Thermal management of high temperature polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells by using flattened heat pipes

High temperature polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell is a clean energy conversion device that generates electricity directly from the electrochemical reaction. Since working about 160?C, heating and cooling mechanisms are critical factors to maintain optimal condition prevent degradation. Simulation models of high were built for investigating distribution on area cells gradient across stack. The ordinary method by using pads applying forced convection air was compared with heat pipe technique. results showed provided more uniform current density 0.214?C per during 0.054?C processes observed. Meanwhile, only 0.44 mA/cm2 cur-rent found.
